As soon as your wedding date and venue are confirmed. My calendar books in advance, especially for peak-season weekends. If you’re looking for a Grand Rapids wedding cake designer serving West Michigan, submit the Wedding Cake Inquiry to check availability.
-
A $200 retainer is required to reserve your date and will be applied toward your final balance. After your design details are gathered, I’ll send a proposal with your total investment. To move forward, a signed contract and a 50% payment are required, with the remaining balance due 4 weeks before delivery.
-
Yes. Private tastings are available once your wedding date is reserved with me. You’ll receive a selection of signature flavors. Tastings are offered as an optional add-on for $100, by appointment, and are often scheduled alongside your design consultation.
-
Once your date is reserved, you’ll complete a cake design questionnaire. We’ll then meet for a design consultation to discuss inspiration and overall direction. From there, I’ll develop your concept. Your final sketch and full design proposal are shared after your contract and initial payment are complete.
-
Absolutely. Inspiration is always welcome, whether it’s a mood board, stationery, florals, venue details, or personal heirlooms. While I don’t replicate cakes, I’ll use what you share to develop a design that feels original and fitting for your celebration.
-
Certainly. I love working with your floral palette, stationery design, bridal fashion, and venue atmosphere to create something cohesive and fitting for the day. Share anything that helps define the aesthetic. A swatch, a mood board, or even a poem. I’ll draw from it during design.
-
That’s perfectly okay. Many couples reserve their date before every detail is finalized. The retainer holds your place on my calendar, and we’ll refine design, flavors, and finishing details during the design phase. I’ll guide you through each step with clear timing and deadlines based on your wedding date.
-
Yes. Wedding cake commissions require a $1,000 minimum. Final pricing is confirmed after your design consultation.
-
Your cake is priced based on size, design scope, and delivery logistics. After your design details are gathered, I’ll share a preliminary estimate based on your direction. Your total investment is confirmed in your proposal.
-
No. I design cakes. I do not replicate them. I’m happy to draw from what you love and interpret the mood behind it, but your cake will be a one-of-a-kind design tailored to your celebration.
-
Yes. Cutting cakes, sheet cakes, cupcakes, or wedding cake shooters can be included as part of a wedding cake commission that meets my $1,000 minimum. I don’t offer stand-alone cutting cake orders, since my focus is complete wedding cake designs. Faux tiers may be incorporated on a case-by-case basis when they support the overall presentation.
I do not provide dessert items beyond cake. You are welcome to hire a separate dessert vendor, with the understanding that I am the only cake provider. Additional desserts must be displayed separately from the cake.
-
Yes. I offer select keto, dairy-free, egg-free, and vegan options. My kitchen is not a dedicated allergen-free facility, so these are best suited for dietary preferences rather than severe allergies, as cross-contamination cannot be eliminated. Please note any dietary needs in your inquiry so we can explore what’s possible.
-
Yes. Wedding cakes require delivery so they arrive safely and are set up with care. Delivery is available throughout West Michigan and select locations beyond the region. Delivery and setup are included in your total investment based on distance, cake size, and logistics.
-
I take every precaution to ensure your cake is delivered and set up with care. In the rare case something unexpected occurs, I will communicate promptly with your planner or venue team and take appropriate steps to support a smooth resolution.
